Since water is seen as the “golden standard” in thermal conductivity, higher concentrations of ethylene glycol in a water solution will cause heat to pass through it slower, therefore, the lower the amount of ethylene glycol in the mixture, the more efficient it is at conducting heat.Viscosity, DynamicAn ethylene glycol/water mixture will be slightly viscous, though viscosity will vary depending on temperature and volume. The lower the temperature, the thicker and more viscous the solution will become, meaning it will be harder to pump and handle and may require larger pumps. However, note that solutions of ethylene glycol are less viscous at lower temperatures than solutions containing propylene glycol. Dynamic viscosity is useful to know when designing pumping systems. Ethylene Glycol / Water Mixture PropertiesMixtures of Ethylene Glycol and water are commonly used as an antifreeze or heat transfer fluid, such as in our GlycoChill+ E-series Heat Transfer Fluids. Here are the chemical and physical properties of Ethylene Glycol/water mixtures.Appearance / OdorEthylene Glycol and water are both naturally clear and liquid in appearance. However, if the mixture is a heat transfer fluid dyed to industry standards, such as GlycoChill+ ‘E’ Series, it will be pink. A slight, sweet odor may be present.Chemical PropertiesEthylene Glycol is completely miscible in water at all concentrations. An Ethylene Glycol / Water mixture will never separate, unless it is freezing, at which point ice crystals will form into a “slushy-like” solution before freezing solid which is known as burst point. This is the reason that the burst point is always lower than the freeze point in a glycol/water solution. Ethylene is a marine pollutant and has a high toxicity if ingested; otherwise, it outperforms its cousin, propylene glycol, on viscosity, specific heat, freeze point & thermal conductivity.DensityThe density (ρ) values of an ethylene glycol/water mixture are shown in the table below. This is displayed in kilograms per cubic meter (kg/m3) .Mass Fraction of E.G. in Solution-48°C (-54.4°F)-35°C (-31°F)-25°C (-13°F)-14°C (6.8°F)-8°C (17.6°F)-4°C (24.8°F)0°C (32°F)20°C (68°F)40°C (104°F)60°C (140°F)80°C (176°F)100°C (212°F)010009989929839729580.1101910181014100810009929840.210381037103610301022101410059950.31058105610551054104610371027101710070.410801077107510731072106310521041103010180.5110311001096109310921090107910671055104210300.6112711241120111511121110110710951082106810551042Freezing Point / Boiling PointFreeze points and boiling points may be found on the freeze point charts for our GlycoChill+ ‘E’ Series product line: Freeze Point Chart – GlycoChill+ Ethylene Glycol Heat Transfer Fluid. AbstractIn this chapter, the design, fabrication and testing of CMC turbine blisk were investigated. The service performance analysis of the turbine blisk was at first analyzed. The spider web structure (SWS) fiber preform was adopted as the reinforcement elements of the turbine blisk. The BN interphase and SiC matrix were deposited on the SWS fiber preform, and during the fabrication, the on-line machining were conducted to control the shape and dimension of the blisk. The environmental barrier coatings (EBCs) were prepared on the surface of the SiC/SiC turbine blisk using the atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) method. The XCT scan was conducted to characterize the internal defects in the SiC/SiC turbine blisk. The mechanical performance evaluation, over rotation test and engine bench test were performed, respectively. Finally, the SiC/SiC turbine blisk was installed on an aircraft and completed the first flight testing, which verified the feasibility of the SiC/SiC turbine rotor for gas turbine engine application and accumulated valuable experience for the subsequent development of CMC hot-section components. 2025-04-17AbstractIn this chapter, the design, fabrication and testing of CMC turbine blisk were investigated. 2025-03-25Blisk is a Chromium-based browser that brings together the performance of Chrome and the developer support found in Firefox Developer Edition.Blisk comes with emulator for major phones and tablets, synchronization between the page in the browser and the emulator, automatic page refresh when the source changes, cloud storage, the ability to take screenshots and to record the screen useful to document bugs, and page inspector. These tools are added as Chromium extensions. When lacking the internet connection, Blisk saves content locally synchronizing it with the associated cloud storage when the connection is back.We wanted to find out more details about this browser, so we interviewed the team behind Blisk.InfoQ: Why Blisk? What does it offer compared to Chrome and Firefox?Blisk: Unlike other browsers, Blisk is a developer-oriented browser. Blisk aims to make developers more productive, to save time, and to prevent bugs.Main features in Blisk: Emulations: Preview desktop and mobile simultaneously. Auto-refresh: App refreshes web page automatically every time you save code changes. Try to open IDE in one screen, Blisk - in another and focus on web development. Navigations sync: App synchronizes URL and scroll position for both mobile and desktop. Mobile and desktop follow each other by URL and scroll position. Screenshots: App takes a screenshot of devices or desktop in one click and saves the screenshot in the cloud. You can share screenshots with teammates or attach them to bug reports. Screen recorder: App records your screen and saves recording in the cloud. You can share screen recordings with teammates or attach them to bug reports. Notifications: App shows real-time notifications about resources that failed to load and JS errors. The app shows stack trace of JS errors and searches for the solution on StackOverflow. Inspector: App enables inspecting in desktop or device view without launching Developer
