The latest version ATK Package for the G53SW is 1.0.0007. If you have installed 1.0.0015, you could uninstall it from Control Panel, REBOOT, and install the 1.0.0007 version as a last attempt at a software fix. Be sure to Logon to Windows and press Fn-F4. Unfortunately, the odds of success are small if your keyboard lights truly do not flash at POST. It is likely that was the version already on your system when it was returned from the Service Center. Keyboard LEDs softwareSome of the latest keyboard and notebook models no longer have LED indicators for the status of the Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock keys, and some people prefer not to have to look away from their monitors even if their input devices are equipped with these indicators. Keyboard Lights is a straightforward application that provides you with a solution to these issues, as it displays a virtual version of the classic keyboard LEDs in desktop area whenever one of these keys is pressed. Whenever you press one of the keys mentioned above, a sound effect is played and a notification is displayed in the system tray area to let you know which of them are currently active.Vovsoft Keyboard Lights is an easy to use application that provides an alternative to the classic keyboard lights that indicate the status of the Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock keys. This program is very useful for keyboards and laptop computers that have no hardware LED indicators.Always on TopWhen you enable "Always on Top" using the Settings window, the software remains constantly visible on your screen. If disabled, the interface will automatically fade-out after displaying the status of Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock keys for a set "Display Duration", such as 10 seconds.Minimal ModeWhen you enable "Minimal Mode" using the Settings window, the main interface becomes smaller and borderless. You can resize and move it anywhere on your screen, even above the TaskBar, for a more streamlined experience.Category: Desktop OtherSupports: Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP (32-bit & 64-bit)Language: English, Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, VietnameseLicense: Freeware — no nags, no ads, fully functional

That 3-pin switches can fit onto a 5-pin switch compatible PCB. However, you would experience some difficulty in the switch’s stability as it would easily pop off the socket of your PCB.Thus, we recommend that you thoroughly research the switches you’re going to buy and their compatibility with your PCB to eliminate the inconvenience and need for extra effort when installing.Orientation of LEDs in your KeyboardThe orientation of the LED of your keyboard is either north-facing or south-facing. Accordingly, you have to get mechanical keyboard switches compatible with the LED orientation of your keyboard. You should consider that some switches are not compatible with North-facing LEDs. Likewise, some switches are also not compatible with South-facing LEDs. One of the problems when dealing with north-facing LEDs is the keycap interference with Cherry profile keys. However, you can easily avoid this by getting a more extended stem switch. Examples of these switches are the Glorious Panda, Feker Panda, and Boba U4T. Switch Housing and RGB Shine-throughIn line with the LED orientation of your keyboard, you also have to consider the board’s RGB shine-through and your switch’s compatibility, especially if you love those gamer lights illuminating on your keyboard. The switch compatibility with shine-through depends on their housing. Mechanical keyboard switches have different types of housings — most of which feature clear housings, opaque housings, and tinted housings. Clear housings are the safest option for RGB to shine through the switch easily. A switch with this type of housing will illuminate the LEDs the brightest out of the three types. On the other hand, opaque housing causes some interference with the RGB shine-through. Compared to the clear-housing switches, its RGB shine-through is considered hazy in color. However, some opaque switches feature a hole in the switch’s housing, which allows the LED to pass through more brightly.Lastly, the tinted housing switches would not cause interference in the light’s intensity, but it would display a tinted color of the original RGB lights. Take, for example, the AKKO Matcha Greens, the switch has a green-tinted housing, and when illuminated by the LED of your keyboard, the RGB would have a slight tint of green with the lights.

Hi @Alperen4,Welcome to HP Support Community. Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.If the keyboard lights on your HP OMEN 16 laptop are not turning off properly, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor software glitches. Restart your laptop and check if the keyboard lights turn off correctly afterward.Use the Function Key: HP laptops often have a function key (usually labeled "Fn") that can control various features, including keyboard backlighting. Look for a key with an icon that looks like a keyboard or a sun, typically found on the F5 or F6 key. Press and hold the "Fn" key while pressing the corresponding function key to toggle the keyboard backlight on and off.Adjust Keyboard Backlight Settings: Check your laptop's keyboard backlight settings. To do this, go to the Windows settings: Open the Windows Settings app by pressing Win + I. Navigate to "Devices" and then "Keyboard." Look for options related to keyboard backlight settings and adjust them as needed.Update Keyboard Drivers: Outdated or incompatible keyboard drivers can sometimes cause issues with keyboard backlighting. To update your keyboard drivers: Right-click on the "Start" button and select "Device Manager." Expand the "Keyboards" category. Right-click on your keyboard device and select "Update driver." Follow the on-screen instructions to update the drivers.BIOS/UEFI Update: Check if there are any BIOS/UEFI updates available for your HP OMEN 16 laptop. Sometimes, updating the BIOS can resolve hardware-related issues.Check for Software Conflicts: Third-party software or utilities, such as keyboard customization tools, can interfere with keyboard backlight functionality. Try closing or uninstalling any such software to see if it resolves the issue.Perform a System Restore: If the issue started recently after a software update or installation, you can try performing a System Restore to revert your system to a point when the keyboard backlight was working correctly.I hope this helps. Take care and have a good day. Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!Alden4HP Suppor Raj_05HP Support Community Moderator
